CASA de SIERRA NEVADA APPOINTS MARC RODRIGUEZ AS GENERAL MANAGER

SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, MEXICO (June 18, 2007) – Casa de Sierra Nevada appoints Marc Rodriguez as General Manager of this 16th century Spanish colonial hotel, a member of the Orient-Express collection of properties. Casa de Sierra Nevada consists of 33 rooms and suites and a cooking school, Sazon. Rodriguez will also oversee the renovation and expansion program that will increase the hotel to 60 rooms, launch two new restaurants, and create an 8,000 square foot signature spa.

Rodriguez was previously the Executive Assistant Manager of the Hotel Ritz Madrid, another Orient-Express property, and has extensive experience in rooms, food, and beverage management. In early 2007, Rodriguez also acted as the interim General Manager of Orient-Express sister property, Maroma Resort and Spa. He has held various postings around the world including positions with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Dublin, London, Mexico City and has assisted properties such as the George V in Paris and FSH Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

About Casa de Sierra Nevada
Opened in 1952, Casa de Sierra Nevada, located a few blocks from the main city square of San Miguel, has 33 rooms spread among nine 16th to 18th century Colonial mansions including:  Casa del Parque, a former fort in the 17th century which became a customs house catering to the silver trade; and Casa Principal, the former residence of San Miguel de Allende’s Archbishop in 1580, now an official historical landmark.  Centuries old architecture and individually designed buildings and guest rooms combined with genuine Mexican hospitality create a true residential feel.
